Customer Reviews

We went to this place on our way to Hell's Gate haunted house and I'm glad we found this place! When you walk in and sit down they'll bring you some chips and have various salsas for you to use on the chips or for your food (they're bottled salsas). The chips were okay, they had salt on the table because the chips didn't have any flavor, but they're free so it's not a big deal to me personally. I got the al pastor burrito (comes with pineapple inside the burrito), a strawberry horchata and ordered some French fries. The burrito was normal sized and was so delicious - everything inside the burrito combined well, the meat was cooked perfectly and the bitesof pineapple just added that extra flavor! The burrito came with rice, beans, meat (they have various options to choose from), pineapple, tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream. The burrito was a 9/10 for me. The French fries were your standard French fries nothing crazy, but they were good. My gf got the al pastor taco dinner and a Mexican Coca-Cola. Her meal came with onions and cilantro, limes, and a side of rice and beans (she didn't want the beans so she just got rice). She gave that dinner a 9/10 as well. Finally, my friend just got 3 carne asada tacos and regular horchata. His meal just came with cilantro, onions, and limes, no rice and beans because it wasn't the taco dinner. He also gave his meal a 9/10. The atmosphere was pretty quiet, nobody talking super loud, there was Mexican music playing, obviously. The service was great! The food came out pretty quick - I was surprised by how fast it came out, the servers came out and made sure everything was good. Overall our dining experience was great - no complaints from us! The restaurant isn't huge, but it's got plenty of seating. All three us enjoyed our meals and got full off of them. For me and my gf it was about $30+, so IMO, that's a pretty good price. If we combined everything together (3 people) we spent $50+ all together; which again, I think is a good price. If we're ever back around this area we're definitely coming back! I definitely recommend eating from here!

We ordered a torta ahogada de carnitas, taco de birria and a plato de carnitas. These are the best carnitas ive had in joliet. Highly reccomend, very clean and very profesional. The waiter was amazing and all food came out fast.

I found Taqueria Los Paisanos #1 in a search while looking for a local, Joliet Mexican Restaurant to support for a large order of tacos. They were so delicious, I wanted to have them cater my daughter's birthday party (24 guests). Location #2 (also in Joliet) does the catering, so my husband called and worked with Angie. We had a taco bar with fresh corn & flour tortillas, tortilla chips, and guacamole, trays of amazing birria beef and chicken, a large tray of toppings and tubs of salsa - so much food for a small price. We were able to give guests leftovers and had enough for my family to enjoy again. Looking forward to going back and trying different things!

!Muy delicioso! Very nice & cozy spot for a lunch date. Glad we got in about 15min before lunch crowd; it got busy quick & staff didn't miss a beat with getting orders out in a timely manner (most were pickups). Very good food with mom saying her, "big ol bowl of soup with a whole roast beef in it was delicious!" birria's w/consumate & pollo flautas

They have a great asada burrito. They don't overdo it on beans, a good amount of steak too. And prices were good, place was clean and smelled good. I will make sure to hit this spot up Everytime I'm in town visiting family.

My husband and I stopped in to check it out as we've driven past it several times and have been interested. I am very glad we did! The restaurant is relaxing and very nicely put together. The service is kind and they go above & beyond. The food is phenomenal. Cooked to perfection!! The price point is right on par and well worth every penny. I love how avocado comes on the torta, without my needing to ask. The salsas taste homemade. Unlike many places that may have a chemical taste due to mass production. We split a horchata, which I'm glad we did as the jar it was served in had plenty for two! We are already planning when to go back.
